New printing technique: Digital Direct Breaking news from the Spreadshirt Printing Lab: photos and images with lots of colors and gradients can now be printed on dark T-shirts! Digital Direct printing means that the traditional techniques of color printing will be become a relic of the past. Digital Direct, 'Didi', is straightforward and stress-free: Upload a good old-fashioned pixel-based design (e.g. .png, .gif, .jpg or .bmp) into myDesign™. And what exactly happens to myDesign™ with the ‘Didi’ print technique? The designs are directly printed onto the t-shirt fabric (unlike our other techniques where they are printed onto a film and then ironed on) with a special type of ink-jet printer. The print comes out as a very thin and soft layer on the fabric. Very dark t-shirts are ‘primed’ with a layer of white before the design colors are printed, helping to create the high-contrast and quality you have come to expect! | 2010 New Years Day. |
